The Camel Club has launched the "Document It Initiative" to document the breeds of camels that deserve having their breeds documented because of their renown in Saudi Arabia. It is the first project in the world whose overall goal is to establish a data base that will help to preserve the gains, protect the health of camels, and raise the level of care for them. The initiative seeks to make the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the main centre for camel breeds in the world.
Detailed Objectives of the Initiative

To raise and develop the level of regulation in the camel sector, locally and internationally. |

To build an electronic platform containing data for all camel owners targeted. |

To build a database for genetic linkage of all camel breeds. |

To issue an electronic document for each camel, giving the owner access to all documents relating to his camel. |

To build a scientific study comparing authentic Arabian breeds and imported breeds, and produce accurate results and clear recommendations on which to build. |

To assist the Camel Club in performing its functions during the competitions and festivals that it organises and regulates. |
 |
To facilitate resolution of disputes regarding the definition of pedigrees and breeds. |
 |
To harmonize research efforts relating to camels, campaign for improvement and create an appropriate environment. |

To create an investor-friendly environment. |
