About the Festival
An annual festival held in the shimmering southern heat of the Dahna desert in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it contributes to the preservation of national identity, introduces generations to their authentic heritage, and introduces the world to this important historical element that has become a heritage and a source of cultural and economic wealth. The Festival aims to promote interest in the camel as an authentic heritage in Saudi, Arab and Islamic culture, and to encourage the preservation and development of distinguished pedigrees and profiles in the camel world. The Festival has become a distinguished cultural, tourist, sporting, entertainment and economic destination. It is one of the biggest festivals focusing on camel races, in addition to the accompanying programmes and events. The Festival also features a large attendance from different age groups including Saudi citizens and people from other countries around the world.
The Camel Club plays an organizing and monitoring role in the Festival as the party responsible for camels and camel development in the Kingdom.
